We had a lovely boat cruise yesterday along the Neva River past the Peter and Paul Fortress and then into the canals around the city....it was such a fun way to see how the city is surrounded by the water ways.....................similar to in Amsterdam without all the bikes......I stood outside taking pics......had to keep ducking under the bridges......LOL! But hey....it was such a fun thing to do.
In the morning yesterday we visited one of the Palaces in the city that was owned by one of the wealthy Russian families.......here's a few pics......OMG.....what a wat to live.....
The furniture and ceilings were amazing...I didn't know where to look first.....LOL!
We left St Petersburg last night and are now cruising towards Moscow......what fun it is....oops...took this pic of the Church of the Spilt Blood yesterday on the cruise......
We walked around Mandrogi today and had a Russian lunch....I loved watching all the crafters performing their crafts......beading,printing,birch wood work,painting dolls....will share some pics from there on my next post.....tonight we had a very funny performance by the Ships staff.....performing the Fairytale.....The Old Man and The Turnip......wait until you see their outfits....we also learnt some Russian Folf Dances tonight in which Rod and I joined in.....great fun.
I also attended a fun Russian Language lesson today on the SHip......I found it very interesting...so we have been practising as we have our dinner,etc....so darn funny......LOL!
Off to Kitzi Island tomorrow....we are so lucky as the ice has cleared....yeh!!!
